3MF → GLB Converter
Convert 3MF files to GLB with separate meshes, supported colors and configurable optimization.
What is 3MF to GLB Converter?
MiniForge’s 3MF to GLB Converter turns a 3MF model into a GLB file directly in your browser. Single-file conversion is free; converting multiple files together requires verified DIAMOND membership.
What can you create?
3MF is a 3D manufacturing format used by printing software. GLB is the binary container for glTF scenes, commonly used by 3D viewers and web applications. Convert for viewing or sharing in software that accepts GLB; GLB does not retain a complete slicer project.
Key features
- Local file processing and a live 3D model preview
- Separate meshes and scene transforms retained by the conversion pipeline
- Bambu/Orca filament colors and per-part names read from supported project metadata
- Configurable simplification, quantization and Meshopt compression
- Single GLB download or DIAMOND batch ZIP with a conversion report
How to use 3MF to GLB Converter
- Select a .3mf file, or connect DIAMOND before selecting multiple files.
- Inspect the preview and choose the optimization settings.
- Run conversion and check the mesh and material counts in the results.
- Download the GLB or batch ZIP, then verify it in the destination viewer.
Supported file formats
Input: .3mf. Output: .glb (binary glTF). Eligible batch conversion downloads a ZIP of GLB files and a text report. This tool does not export STL or convert GLB back to 3MF.
Requirements and limitations
Compatibility depends on the source 3MF and destination viewer. The pipeline supports colors provided by the 3MF loader and Bambu/Orca part metadata, but does not guarantee every texture, extension or slicer setting. Simplification changes geometry; quantization reduces numeric precision. Meshopt output needs a compatible decoder. File-size reduction is model-dependent and not guaranteed.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert 3MF to GLB?
Open a 3MF file in the converter, review the preview and optimization settings, select Convert, and download the resulting GLB. Check the output in the viewer where you intend to use it.
Can I convert 3MF files for free?
Yes. Single-file conversion and GLB download are free. Selecting, converting or downloading a batch requires an active verified DIAMOND membership.
Does conversion preserve colors and geometry?
Supported mesh geometry, transforms and colors are carried into GLB. Bambu/Orca filament metadata supplies per-part colors and names when available. Simplification and quantization can alter geometry or precision; inspect the result. Not all 3MF extensions or textures are guaranteed.
Are my models uploaded for conversion?
No. Model parsing, optimization and GLB export run locally in your browser. Membership verification and optional consented analytics are separate network services and do not upload the model for conversion.
Is batch conversion supported?
Yes. Verified DIAMOND members can convert multiple 3MF files and download a ZIP with individual GLBs and a conversion report.
