What is Tray Studio?

Tray Studio makes rectangular organizers and lift-off boxes with real millimeter geometry in your browser.

What can you create?

Fit an organizer to a drawer or shelf, divide it into useful spaces, and add a removable lid or stacking interface.

Key features

  • Recursive compartments with built-in or removable branch dividers
  • Adjustable walls, floor, rounded corners and clearances
  • Lift-off lid and optional stacking rings
  • Animated assembled, exploded, top and print views
  • Free fit-test pieces, STL sets, Bambu 3MF and editable JSON projects

How to use Tray Studio

  1. Set the tray outside dimensions.
  2. Split compartments or position removable dividers.
  3. Choose colors and print a free fit sample.
  4. Download and inspect the parts in your slicer.

Supported file formats

Single-part STL, ZIP of named STL parts and assembly instructions, Bambu 3MF arranged across plates, and editable JSON projects.

Requirements and limitations

Removable divider plates print flat and seat in shallow floor tracks; separate roof-down clips join their top edges. Stackable lids may need supports in the supplied orientation. Fit, retention and stacking stability require test prints. Commercial use of MiniForge tools requires an active DIAMOND membership on Patreon. Third-party artwork and icon licenses still apply; membership does not grant rights to someone else’s artwork. Read the Terms of Use before selling prints.

Frequently asked questions

Are dividers removable?

Choose Built-in for a single printed tray, or Removable for separate flat plates that seat in wall grooves and floor tracks, with small removable clips at branch joints. You can split only one selected compartment.

Can I save my design?

Yes. Save and load editable JSON projects. The last valid draft is also saved locally in your browser.

What clearance should I use?

Start at 0.25 mm per mating side and print the free fit-test pieces. Printer and filament differences can require adjustment.
